"Yoki II"
In Japanese, “Yoki” carries layered meanings—chi, life force, vitality. This sculptural vessel channels that essence, capturing the pulse that runs through all living things. It stands as a bridge between worlds, a container for the intangible.
Its sleek form suggests movement and transition, paying quiet homage to ancient Egyptian funerary boats—vessels meant to guide the soul from one life to the next. The central concave shape, lined with layered slips that pool and crust at the bottom, cradles memory—echoes of experience etched in surface and form. Joy, sorrow, and everything in between leave their trace, and when we’re gone, these remnants become ashes, carried by the winds of existence.
Yoki II beckons contemplation. Stand before it and you may find yourself tracing the passage of the soul. Its minimalist design invites multiple interpretations, always returning to themes of travel, transition, and the ineffable essence of being.
