White & Gold Vessel - No 136
This sculptural vessel from the White & Gold Collection pushes the boundaries of form and gesture. Rising with a powerful sweep, its flared lip twists outward in a dramatic, winged motion—poised somewhere between flight and stillness. The body of the piece is coated in textured layers of white clay, each mark holding the memory of movement, like swirling winds etched into the earth.
Sweeping gold glaze drips and pools across the surface, responding to the vessel’s curves with bold, expressive strokes. The effect is both visceral and refined—part eruption, part illumination. Porcelain slip adds a delicate crinkling at the edges of each gold gesture, deepening the sense of visual rhythm and layered energy.
Created in a single, uninterrupted session, this work embodies the immediacy and clarity that define the White & Gold Collection. It is a vessel of presence—sculptural, emotive, and alive with light and shadow. A work that doesn’t just hold space, but transforms it.
