This is a technique I’ve been playing with for a few years now.

Porcelain slip is poured onto a 100lb plaster bat, brushed out to the desired size, and then more slip and metallic glaze are gesturally added. Once the piece dries to a leather-like consistency, the entire piece is scraped off the bat and transferred to a kiln shelf.

It’s an incredibly precarious technique because it has a high failure rate if the porcelain slip isn’t handled just so.
